marco sad he wrote you some weeks ago. I was in tübingen at university for the last few weeks, writing my exam thing... Now I m home for the weekend. I often think back at the great time we had in Namibia and at Kanaan! I ve been to many nice placec in my life, but the sundown on the hill behind your farm was one of the nicest, or the nicest place, I ve ever been. really!!! and I like to come back... About two weeks ago we bought a new travelguide ( Namibia and botswana) because we are thinking about comming back next summer. maybe with our dad. so we will see... again thank you very much, and we will stay in contact. dennis

we are back in Europe and looking back to our long journey in Namibia. From your place we went further to Lüderitz, Rosh Pinar, Oranje, Fish River Canyon, Quiver Trees at Keetmanshoop and the C17-C15-C20 through the Kalahari. So we have seen quite a lot of your country. Your place we really enjoyed and the pictures we have taken from your farmland convinced our friends here in Europe, that the landcape in Kanaän is marvelous. I have forwarded my remarks to Iwanowski and recommended Kanaän... For the future I hope that you will be in the position to have more guest at your farm Kanaän.

We really had a wonderful time in Namibia and one of the absolute highlights was the stay at Kanaan. We did not feel more hospitality in any other accomodation on the way. So thank you for that experience. Unfortunately, normal life has a firm grip on us again, but looking at the pictures we made, we still brush up our memory and that puts a smile on our faces every time. We are just about to give Iwanowski a feedback on our trip and will let them know that they should send more people to you guys to share the same good time we had. Enjoy the summer, we are starting to have the first frosty days here.

Ons het koud gekry in Windhoek, vergaan van die hitte in Swakop (Oosweer en bokant 40 grade!), en kuier nou in die Etosha. Hier is dit net so warm, ons koel elke dag oor die midag uur af in hulle swembad. Behalwe vandag, want ek sit bietjie en skryf. Ons het baie lekker gekuier by julle, en sal altyd onthou hoe aangenaam julle dit vir ons gemaak het. Hoop julle sal baie voorspoed en sukses beleef met julle projek, want julle is op die regte pad. Etosha is vol wild, die kampe nie so op standaard nie, maar ons kla nie - loop baie mense hier raak wat ons so in die loop van ons toer ontmoet het. Groete, Oom Johan en Tannie Joyce
Ons is veilig terug by die huis nadat ons julle pragtige land deur kruis en terdeë geniet het. Hermi, baie dankie vir julle gasvryheid en oorweldigende vriendelikheid wat ons ervaar het. Dit wat julle ons gebied het, ongevraagd, het diep in ons harte gaan lê. Vir die Lennon kas wat uitgepak is, die helfde van julle sout voorraad wat ek opgedrink het en die toppunt, die rit deur julle pragtige plaas,- dit is onverbeterlik-, sê ons weereens baie baie dankie. Ons bede vir julle is dat hierdie projek van julle groot vrugte sal afwerp, en wie weet, sien ons julle dalk een jaar by KKNK. Dit wil sê as jy herkenbaar is.

Dear Marlene, dear Hermi, our holidays are over and now we are back in germany for one week. We had a lovely trip trough Namibia and we loved the country, the places we saw and the people. We specially remember your place because it was the first farm in namibia we visited and we enjoyed our stay with you so much! Thank you for this great experience and your hospitality. Een gast uit nederland kwam op kanaan een ervaring om van het pad af naar jullie plaats te rijden,die gast kreeg waar een gast recht op had vriendelijkheid bij ontvangst,het onbeschrijfelijke eten wat door marlene is bereid zonder enige moeite kon zij dit bereiden de eenvoud wat het zo ontzettend lekker maakte,de gesprekken aan tafel die over de dag gingen jullie uitstraling van rust en vriendelijkheid. De morgen na een koude nacht de zon die opkwam het juiste plekje te vinden voor het beste resultaat van de juiste foto blij was ik dat hermi excact weet waar de juiste plaats is en wat hij kon laten zien,het landschap zonder enige hekken of gaas het landschap zoals het vroeger was.Ik heb byzondere foto s mogen nemen en kan terugzien op een tijd waarin jonge mensen nog iets voor mekaar gekregen hebben een unieke plek op een unieke lokatie . Hello Hermi, Hello Marlene, we are back in our home town and at work. Look at the picture, this is Schwaebisch Hall, where we live. It is a little bit colder than in Namibia, we have seen early snow this year.
But we remember Namibia very well, we had a very nice stay there. Kanaan farm was one of the best places we have been. We would like to come again in only a few years to see you again. With many greetings from cold South Germany

Well, to do that translation (French translation f this website) gave me so many pictures in my mind...a real pleasure, actually. Thank you for your trust ! May be you could send me a powerpoint presentation of Kanaan. I could ask my students to work on it. It would be a very good challenge for them who are learning powerpoint. I am thinking several times to you, to your hospitality, to your meals and to those unique walks that you allow me to discover around your farm. we, rudi and marion ( i hope you remember) are back in good old cold germany.
We want to thank you for the very impressive stay at kanaan. Kanaan was at the beginnging of our namibia-trip, but it was the most impressive location during the trip ! We had a very good time in your country, i want to send you some pictures i made in kanaan an somwhere else ! We had some trouble at the aba huab river , near twyvelfontain. I try to drive a 4x4 like you did in the morning drive, but this was not good. I drove into water, but it was too deep. In the middle of the aba huab there was a hole and the car went down ( you know our new X-Trail, you testet it ). But we had great luck. Vincent from the Mowani lodge comes with his unimog pulled us out of the river. So we had a wunderful night in mowani camp :))). We got a new car from hertz and the damage is insured ! So everything work fine , at least ! So i want to wish you the very best. Enjoy your minimalism as long as it works ! Greetings from munich.
Hallo Hermi und Marlene, since yesterday late evening we are at home again! But what means home?I felt much more familiarin Namibia then in Germany. Nevertheless it was a beautiful event to meet you two. But its very depressing to come back to Germany, zero degree an snowfall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wished to be back in Africa! But okay for the next few years I have to live with that, if nobody gives me a job in Namibia. yesterday Gerd told me he mailed with you. Just let me say thank you as well for the warm welcome, the outstanding landscape, the laughter and discussion we shared. It was simply wonderful to stay with you not only for extraordinary accomodation, the talk we had but also for the delicious food and everything!
